Honey:

Thanks a lot for not getting all upset about the furniture.

I am enclosing a letter from Mother which I thought you might like.  You seem to have made sort of a permanent place for yourself even if you are a damn yankee.

I am enclosing the Ft. Sam card—but! Since I am easily proven not to be at same place as you at time of signing, it has no legal value.  I suggest you send it down stating that it’s my signature (for identification purposes) and that the agreement is made (using your power of attorney) for me in my absence.  See Daddy about this.

Tell Sis not to worry about John.  I can’t visualize any combat for him.

So you think our kids will speak sign language.  Well, Honey, I’m going to insist they start learning at least one other language at the same time they start learning English.

So we’re aunt & uncle again (in October).  I’m glad for the kids but I’m little worried about Jack’s future.

Last letter from V.V. was months ago from Mexico City.  She was wondering about Red Cross overseas work.  I strongly recommend it.

Honey, I’m trying hard to get used to my job in MATAF, but it is quite a let-down.  I think I can make the grade if I try.  God, but it’s a temptation to try to keep out of operational flying.

Hey!  What Chi bank is the rest of our dough in?

Am natchelly waiting for the new pictures.

I just finished a three day trip.  Yesterday I drove a command car 200+ miles, and I’m a wreck.  Speaking of wrecks, I visited most of the places I’ve bombed up here.  Boy what a mess!  It’s just like old times to see burnt-out tanks, mines galore, etc.

I also saw Vulcanos and had an evening and dinner with them.  Macaroni, French fries, roast beef, bread (dark), lettuce & tomato salad (cucumber, onion, olive oil, and wine vinegar), and fresh apricots & watermelon for dessert.  It must have cost them a fortune.  Of course, wine was served.  Augusto was there this time.  His temperament is exactly like Chuck’s at the same age.

Well, boss is here so I shall sign off.  Love you, Cy
