Hi Snooks:
I got into this town on my first leg of the trip to school yesterday afternoon. Although it was the scene of quite a disaster a few months back, it has forgotten the war now. I spent four hours getting air transportation lined up, and as usual the British finally furnished it. Our people, back of the lines aren’t worth a damn. Since I can’t get a plane ‘til tomorrow, I have been sightseeing. There is nothing to see.
I had lunch with a batch of Red Cross gals 3 weeks out of the States. They were quite refreshing—even liked out C ration soup. They’ll get over that.
Last evening I spent aboard an RAF rescue launch—built in Miami. The skipper was busy with a G.I. nurse, so I had time to look at all the equipment and shoot the bull with the crew. They were having some radio trouble and I naturally got into the thick of it.
Honey, wish you could make this trip with me. You’d love it.
Love, darling, Cy.
