1943 April 29 “I’d get up & serve you waffles, coffee & omelet in bed”

4/29/43 Tunisia

Hi Toots:

The heading looks gruesome, but isn’t.  I’m listening to the Fitch Bandwagon, parked in bed, happy, & well fed.  Blue Baron is swinging out.

If I were home, I’d take you to a dance tonight, followed by a beautiful job of messing up your hair when it was over.  Then in the morning I’d get up & serve you waffles, coffee & omelet in bed—just to see that “little girl” look of gratitude you always show whenever I get a chance to do something for you.

An answer to your questions of about six letters:

  1. Job—Ok only if near the folks or Gerrities (near means 10 miles)
  2. Time for Baby—good
  3. Hospital Insurance—damn good
  4. Permanent—Oh Baby—better get pictures quick or I’ll get madder.
  5. Dates—ok have place—don’t get touched ___ all my ____.

Now how about going back & answering some of my questions?

P.S. Send me a fountain pen if you can.  Incidentally, investigate one of those funeral expense plans.  It may save us a terrific heartache later—much later I hope.

Honey, I shall probably not be home before two years, as I shall probably go completely staff in 6 months or so.  Plan on that and I may be able to surprise you.

I love you, little baby.  Please write & send pictures whenever you can.  Even if you should think I’m not getting them, write anyhow.

Your spoiled boy, Cy
